	About Anita Kante
	The first time I picked up a paintbrush I was twelve years old and ever since then I have been on a journey of creativity. In recent years, art making for me has become an exploration of spirituality, creativity and expression. I, like most people, find comfort in controlling aspects of my life and environment. When I pick up a paintbrush that control dissolves: I do not plan what I’m going to create, I tend to paint very quickly and I find that working quickly doesn’t allow for control. I’ve discovered that being spontaneous and ‘in the moment’ can yield great gifts. Through painting I have explored the world around me as well as the world within. I’m naturally drawn to abstraction and colour; elements of landscapes and cityscapes are often found throughout my work. Art has led me into a career as an Art Therapist. As a former teacher, I saw firsthand the potential impact art and creativity can have on one’s life; giving someone the ability to express themselves in a completely new way. Intrinsically, I have always enjoyed working with people, and Art Therapy is a union between my artistry and my passion in working with others. Through Art Therapy I provide my clients of all ages a safe space to explore the creative process, enhance their quality of life and reconnect with themselves. I have found great personal insight and enlightenment through the creative process. I feel very fortunate and humbled that others have taken an interest in my art, and being able to share the joy I receive from painting is a great reward. View more of Anita's artwork
